Proper Nutrition / Diet Program

Feed Your Cells!

Have you ever wondered how our bodies assimulate all the foods we eat, you know, separate the stuff that's usable from that which is not. Then, how much energy we use up to eliminate the extra, the stuff that's not needed.

These are the days of popular convenience foods, ready made, ready to eat, just eat and enjoy. We are consuming more and more "foods" that have been processed with almost undigestible additives and taste enhancers, that are visually appealing and last almost forever on the shelves.

Or foods that are processed in our bodies as sugars, and blow our blood sugars sky high. We are eating less and less of the foods that sustain our life energy, and to top it off, we make our digestive systems work overtime to get rid of it all.

This sounds smart. (I am being sarcastic here.) Eat a bunch of nearly nutritionally dead food, almost putting no energy in, and then spend what energy we have stored, to eliminate all the excess. Sounds like overdrawing a bank account, sooner or later you go broke. What a recipe for lifestyle driven illness and the need for diet programs.

Good foods that will feed our body's energy needs are fruits and vegetables, their sprouts and juices, legumes, seeds, and nuts, natures herbals, all in their raw state. I am not saying to eliminate all other foods from your diet, but in general, you will be healthier as you increase the percentage of fresh foods in your daily regimen.

Some people eat only raw, "live" foods that have all their enzymes and nutritional properties intact. Others have vegan or vegetarian types of foods only. But the biggest part of our population, are eating every single thing they can get their hands on as long as it tastes good or they can eat it fast.

I believe in enjoying foods of all types, but, I also know that my good health depends on nature's gardens, not man's processing plants. Pardon the pun. Just a little play on words.

I would be better off to increase my percentage of raw veggies, etc., and that is exactly what I am doing now. So should you. If you are following the general population, at the very least, check out your food intake and examine how much energy giving foods you eat, in relation to how much energy sucking foods you consume. If it is too low and you could use a boost of energy, then you might want to consider more fresh food intake.

As I said, I am in the process of increasing more health serving foods in my daily diet, along with planned periods of time from 1, 2, and 3 days, where I only consume fresh juices, herbals, and water, (fasting meant for detox purposes, which I will explain further in it's own section)

Some experts recommend that you should consume at least 75% raw food. Others maintain that 100% raw, needs to be the goal. At any rate, a good starter goal would be to add more fresh fruits and vegetables, gradually approaching optimum for your body. You are the best judge of how you feel. We need to develop great recipes, with tasty yet healthy food, that aligns with our goals for longevity. Suggestions are always welcome, as long as they align with our purpose of longevity and abundant energy.

* Raw Foods include vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, and legumes. Animal or fish products should not be eaten in an uncooked state. If you are going to eat animal or fish products, please cook as required by health and safety standards. Some fish may be acceptable for "sushi" style meals.

Remember that it is always prudent to check with your physician before you change any of your daily routines.
