Procrastination Buster – Believe You Can Stop Procrastinating

Want To Stop Procrastinating, Believe You Can!

The power of belief is a key to success in everything we do. Whether your goal is to rise to the top of your profession or to be a better weekend golfer, you have a better chance of success if you believe you’ll be successful. And by believing that you can defeat procrastination, you can start to take charge of your life today.

You must learn how to control your negative thoughts. When your mind says you can’t do something, refuse to listen to it. Don’t express your negative thoughts in words; tell your mind-and say it out loud-that you’re going to do what it takes to get the job done.

It isn’t easy, but it’s worth the effort. Many people procrastinate because they’ve made up their minds that they’re going to fail. If you are one of these people, the most important thing you can do today is to stop believing what the procrastination demon has been telling you.

Human beings are unique because of our ability to change – to become more than what we are. But before we can change, we must be able to accept full responsibility for everything we do. Smokers who say they “hate” smoking are deluding themselves – as an ex-smoker, I claim some authority on this topic.

We have a choice. People smoke because they want to smoke. It may be very hard for many people to quit smoking, but that’s not the point – they’ll never quit as long as they lie to themselves about the real cause of their habit. People are able to quit smoking when they really want to quit.

Take this quiz to find out if negative thoughts are causing procrastination in your life:

1. When you tackle a job, do you expect to be successful? Do you think you’ll be able to complete the job successfully by giving it your best effort?

2. Do you visualize your success? When you face a difficult task and feel like giving up, are you able to give yourself a pep talk to stay motivated?

3. When friends, family members, or others help you recognize a habit that you need to change, are you able to recognize the truth in what they say? Do you believe you can change your bad habits?

4. Do you accept responsibility when your projects fail, rather than looking for something beyond your control to blame it on?

5. When your mind says you’re going to fail, do you try to replace these negative thoughts with positive ones?

If you answered “no” to any of the above questions, ask yourself what you can do to approach life with a more positive attitude. Do you want to go on living with negative thoughts, doubts, and fears? Are there any benefits of clinging to a negative attitude?

We can change bad habits by wanting to change them. Power up and fuel that desire for what you want. And you can defeat the habit of procrastination in your life – especially when you believe you can.

Procrastination Buster – First Set Your Mind To The Task

Stop Procrastinating Today, Set Your Mind To It!

“Never put off until tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.” — Mark Twain

Everyone can enjoy the humor in Twain’s comment. But for many of us, Twain’s insight on the danger of procrastination is painfully true.

You can take the first step toward a more satisfying life by getting serious about overcoming procrastination. And the place to get started is in your own mind-that’s where the war is won or lost.

To overcome procrastination, you have to change your attitude.

All successful people know that you have a better chance of completing a job when you approach it with a positive attitude.

· Your attitude is a choice. Many people procrastinate because they tell themselves that they will increase their chances of success if they wait for all the circumstances to be “right” before tackling a project. To be successful, you must force yourself to make a decision and do something no matter what the circumstances say.

· Your attitude determines the outcome of your actions. People who are successful at what they do are rarely those with the greatest natural ability or the highest IQ. People who are constantly able to complete jobs successfully have a positive attitude-they believe they can complete the job.

· You cannot control the past, so move on. Thinking about how you might have responded differently to a difficult problem in the past is an important part of preparing to be a better problem-solver today. Analyze what you could have done differently, chalk it up to experience, and then forget about it.

The following quiz will help you identify areas where you can take action today. Answer “yes” to each statement that describes you.

1. I don’t wait for the “right” set of circumstances to tackle a job-I know the circumstances will never be perfect.
2. I believe my project will be successful if I give it my best effort.
3. When I fail, I don’t blame circumstances beyond my control; I ask myself what I could have done differently to bring about a different result.
4. I don’t fret over decisions once I’ve made them-I stay focused on what I’m doing in the present.
5. I know when to wrap up a job-if I spend more time on it I’m only making up excuses for not starting something new.

If you answered “no” to any of the above statements, make a commitment to change your attitude today. Choose one item and do something about it. Don’t move on to the next item until you can truthfully answer “yes” to the previous one.

“Be not the slave of your own past,” Ralph Waldo Emerson said.

Cut the chains of procrastination and start living life to the fullest. Set your mind to it and you will succeed.

Goal Setting Problems? 6 Goal Setting Mistakes Not To Make In Your Planning

Goal setting can go wrong for lots of reasons. When it happens, it can be awfully devastating to our self esteem and some even swear off setting any new goals. So, try to avoid these goal setting mistakes outlined below.

1. Outcome goals are set instead of performance goals. This forces you to focus on the end result immediately instead of taking your time to go through the steps of goals setting. When you set goals properly you are doing it in a step by step manner.

Where you are using outcome goals, and you fail to achieve the goal for reasons outside your control, this can be very disappointing and sometimes leads to loss of enthusiasm and feelings of failure. Always set performance goals instead as this will give you a higher chance of succeeding.

2. Goals are set unrealistically high. When a goal is perceived to be unreachable, no effort will be made to achieve it. Set realistic goals so that you can best decide how to go about achieving them. Only you can decide what “realistic” is.

3. Goals are set so low that you feel no challenge or benefit in achieving the goal. You begin to feel that setting goals has been a waste of time. Always set goals that are challenging enough to be worth the effort, but not out of reach. Again, this is a personal decision.

4. Goals are so vague that they are useless. It is difficult to know when vague goals have been achieved. How can you know if you aren’t clear about what is to be reached? Your achievement must be able to be measured. In setting vague or unmeasurable goals you will not benefit from goal setting. Set precise and quantitative goals.

5. Goal Setting is unsystematic, sporadic and disorganized. In this case certain goals will be forgotten, and the achievement of goals will not be measured and feedback is non existent. The major benefits of goal setting have been lost. Be organized and be regular in your goal setting.

6. Too many low priority and misaligned goals are set, leading to a feeling of overload and overwhelm. Make the goals you pursue worth pursuing! Pick one BIG life changing goal or mission and then align your intermediate and short term goals within it. One laser focus to success!

Avoid these problems, and set your goals properly. Commit and persist in your actions, and you will achieve them. Spend the proper amount of time in your goal setting and you will maintain strong forward momentum until you have what you want.

Motivational Tips For High Achievement

Five Top Self-Improvement Motivators

People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily. — Zig Ziglar

Self-improvement is something that everyone should focus on everyday of his or her lives. Building character and being positive are two of the greatest joys that people can receive by staying motivated through self-improvement.

This article will attempt to elaborate on five self-improvement motivators that are at the top of the list.

1. Become the person who is known for his or her hustle.
When you do something, do it your way and do not fall into the cookie cutter mold of what you think people want to see. Try to keep the thought of what people will be expecting your actions to be and then do not do it differently.

If everyone in the office uses a white board and a black white board marker for presentations, do your presentation with a computer slide show using tons of color. Do nothing expected, change the way you think and stick with it.

Of course work hard and with quickness, the positive feedback you will receive from a superior or even a friend will boost your self-esteem through the roof.
