I think there's a lot of people making money on the internet these days who feel that their 'virtual business' is somehow an exception to the rule. For small timers who don't invest a lot of money into their online ventures, it seems pointless to keep a business plan. But what they're probably not accounting for (at least initially), is that they're sinking tons of time into their work. If they paid themselves a fair wage, they'd have relatively high expenses. Keeping a business plan and doing some basic accounting is very useful for keeping things in perspective as your business grows.
