How To Set Impossible Goals And Make Them Possible To Achieve
How You Can Achieve Your Goals, No Matter How Big Or Impossible They May Seem
In goal setting, what you expect, or what you believe to be true, is usually what you get, what you will end up with.
Notice that I did not mention anything about whether it is actually true or not, just what you believe to be true, expect to be true . . .
Did you set any impossible goals? I mean goals that you have set out for yourself, but you don’t really believe that you will achieve them?
During your goals setting sessions, did you set some “way out there” goals for yourself?
How do you turn your seemingly impossible goals to possible goals, and then to probable?
How do you turn the invisible into the visible, and then into the real thing?
You must raise your expectations and your belief system to include the possibility of your potential success.
In any big dream or mission, there are 4 self limiters at work, and these must be addressed in order to turn the impossible to the possible, and then to the probable. Does that make sense?
I read this quote a few years back and I no longer have the author’s name, but it pretty much says it all about self limiting beliefs and how they can negatively affect us. If anyone knows who originally stated this, let me know so that I can credit them. For now, I’ll credit Anonymous for now. It begins just as most goal setting coaches will recommend to you.
First define your dream precisely.
The only present limit or ceiling to what you can achieve is mainly defined by:
1. the extent of your ability to define with precision that which you desire
2. the extent of your ability to create and intensify that desire
3. the extent of your ability to believe you can do it, and
4. the extent of your ability to define and take the action steps necessary for your dream’s attainment.
Let’s talk about those for a minute. So, what really limits your ability to define your dreams with precision is the consistent questions you ask yourself, your self talk! Ask better questions and you will get better, more empowering answers. Ask power questions and your answers will increase your your ability to improve any of the above .
The only thing which limits your questions is your belief about what is possible for you to do. — Anonymous
Simple, huh? Those 4 self limiters are all within our power to change and grow. Cultivate the core belief that you can positively shape your destiny, continually ask good questions over and over, and you will most certainly receive a better answer each time. This is how the subconscious mind operates.
If you have ever watched Jeopardy! (a popular TV game show), you would see a board made up of answers and object of the game is for the contestants to come with the correct questions first to gain more points than the other players.
Your brain can be likened to the Jeopardy! game. Every answer is already there, all you have to do is come up with the right question to find them. Never stop asking questions and your mind will answer you with more detail each time.
And with each passing day that you focus on better questions, you start to locate more ways to overcome any obstacles that may stand in your way.
Sometimes the answers are pretty far out there, but if you let them flow without judgement or criticism, soon the right quality answer will arrive. Personal brainstorming is tremendously effective when done without judgement or prejudice.
Where to start?
Again, decide on what you really want and determine what’s preventing you from having it up until now. Find out what the real price is in time, effort, or investment, and pay it! Keep asking the questions that empower your brain to find the right answers that move you forward instead of immobilizing you.
Remember that we get more of whatever we focus on. Clearly articulate what you do want. The more specific you are, the more power you will have to rapidly achieve your goal. The better the questions you ask, the more helpful the answers you will get.
Once you’ve decided what you want, start to identify any obstacles you might face on your journey, such as the anticipated pain that might occur as a result of changing.
What is it that you desire? What is preventing you from having it now? Good questions to answer for yourself in detail.
Don’t get caught up trying to change others, or change conditions. Things will move – when we move them! Things will change – when we change! Ignor the negative naysayers, and power through to your biggest goals!.
Focus on what you desire! Focus on the positive, and then ask yourself how you can make it work!
Your mind holds one thought at a time. Focus on what will bring you the greatest and most desirable results!
Make the impossible goals possible, and then make them probable. Then go get them.
Here is one of my favorite quotes – “Don’t wonder about whether something is possible – don’t get bogged down in WHETHER. Ask HOW. Over and over if you have to, but ask how can you do it, not whether you can.” — Brian Tracy
Always remind yourself – - I am not competing with anyone else. I am the only one on this track!
After all, this is my Life, and I get to decide what I can and cannot do! Affirm to yourself. I can. I can. I can. Make it so!
